About Us

We are Keenan and Yuki, an exploring couple from Vancouver, Canada.

In 2012, while studying civil engineering at the University of British Columbia, I asked Yuki, “would you be interested on going on a road trip with me?”

“heck yes!”

Two weeks camping through the Canadian Rockies and we returned to our senior year energized for the next adventure. Rather than pay attention in class, we began searching the internet and gathering dreams. Dreams of travel. Dreams of adventure.

Two days after our graduation we were on a jet plane headed for Japan, the beginning of a 3-month backpacking tour that took us to China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Thailand. This was a dream come true and wet our appetite for more. Along the way, we documented our memories through this blog and photography, both digital and analog.

Since then, we’ve road tripped to San Francisco and the Oregon coast – twice, visited South Korea, and explored BC.

We’re pursuing careers as structural engineers in Vancouver, but are keenly focused on seeing more of the world and saving for a round-the-world tour.

Keenan grew up on Vancouver Island and spent most of his childhood building LEGO towns in the living room and sandcastles on the nearby beach. He enjoy storytelling through photography, taking on several yearbook projects. Keenan began writing this blog on his first trip out of North America to Malaysia.

Keenan is currently working at Associated Engineering as a engineer-in-training in the building structural group where he designs residential, commercial, and industrial structures. He is known for his 3d models and ability to generate 3d designs of complex systems. Recent projects include a welcome house, a recreation centre, and a sustainability analysis of building materials for an eco resort.

In his spare time he enjoys designing buildings in SketchUp and gaming. His preferred method of travel is driving on road trips where he has the freedom to go where every he wants.
